GuestJust wanted to let everyone know, I’m working on two projects for the site. The first is an essay about the really great parts about the LDS faith — the core ideas of the restoration. I got the idea listening to the interview Krista Tippet did with that LDS scholar (i’m too lazy to look it up right now) on Speaking of Faith. It’s a reminder of the really great ideas that came out of the restoration, and that all the things we worry so much about are mostly tangential topics seldom discussed in the everyday Church experience. We spend so much time agonizing over the wierd, oddly-shaped stuff in our religion! This is going to take me a couple weeks to write and polish. I have an outline done.
The other project is forming a portfolio of questions to interview people who seem to be finding success in reconciliation after their crisis. I’d like to carry on the tradition of interviewing people in audio/video format. I like this format because you can hear and feel the emotions more directly. It has a gut-level component that is very difficult to pull off in a written medium.
I want to keep momentum going here, and continue building up the site. It takes time. Our company laid off more people last week, which means fewer hands to do a lot of the same volume of work. So the pressures of life have been rather distracting.

GuestI hear you on the pressures of life. Same at work for me. I like the idea of coming up with the good by-products of the restoration. I was also thinking of trolling some OM posts from way back when for some starters here. Another idea might be coming up with a laundry list of starters:
– Mormon culture/not fitting the mold
– JS sincerity
– Book of Abraham
– BOM historicity
– Polygamy
– Succession crisis
Any other thoughts for starters?
