You all rock, and I mean that!

Truth of the matter is I was born in the covenant but I left the Mormon church at 17 (I am now 43). I only became disaffected from it later as I learned about its history, and it hurt, but gave up on it. I applaud both of your abilities to stay strong in it even as you recognize it has its problems. I could never go down the road you are on. I could never return to the church after all these years with all I know. I would be a pariah to them and to myself. I’ve decided it is time to let go. Just is pointless. Keep up your work because I think you really inspire those who are hanging on. But I gotta check out. Later, Curt

Thanks for the kind words Curt. I wish you all the best in your journey. I understand your decision. I hope you continue to move in your faith, along the paths that are right for you. There are lots of valuable sources out there for connection to the divine in all of us.

Thanks for the message, curt. All I can do is echo valoel:

Pursue righteousness no matter where your journey takes you. Even if you can’t believe literally in the concept of becoming like God, for example, figure out what kind of person you want to become and pursue it wholeheartedly. If I could boil the theology of Mormonism down to its essence, removed from organized religion, that would be it – deciding who you want to be and pursuing it with single-minded focus.

If you can do that, I believe you will be happy – and end up blessed when all is said and done.
