I know most of you are very concerned about the survivors of the Haitian Earthquake. I find it a miracle that one or more of the LDS Church meeting houses are still standing and even have running water. These buildings were among the very few that had been designed with any type of building codes and structural standards.
A recent article on KSL.com describes how the Church is sponsoring a team of about 14-16 medical doctors who will fly to Haiti tonight and use the LDS Churches as makeshift hospitals. They are sending water purifiers so that the running water in the buildings can be used. They also are packing huge amounts of medical supplies.
