GuestMy daughter gave me a picture of me and her laughing together, in a frame that reads: “Everything will be okay when it’s over.If it’s not okay, then it’s not yet over.”
I just wanted to share that with the group.

GuestYou are right. Everything will be ok. Truly feeling this way, letting it sink in and actually making this sense of acceptance and safety a part of our soul, that is a profound and spiritual accomplishment. I personally think this process is very similar to the reality of making the atonement happen for us. Gaining this perspective opens up an entirely new world of possible growth and development IMO. And on a very deep level, I think it is also related to the Mormon concepts of making our “calling and election sure” and the ritual of second anointing (the metaphor of it).

GuestThat IS great! There is a “new thought” line of thinking that I’ve heard from many teachers that says something similar — it’s ALL okay (or as my son says, “it’s all good”). It refers (basically) to the principle that there is a “lesson” from everything; even when a person is hurt, there is a lesson that comes from it. Pain is a great teacher…. The concept allows much less drama in one’s life. Instead of living with the constant “right” and “wrong,” life looks more like “this happened, and these are the results…” Much less guilt and blame, more accepting what is; more internal peace.
