One of my wife’s favorite books is “Small and Simple Things” – a compliation of thoughts from Marjorie Peay Hinckley. My wife has shared many of the quotes from it, and I also have come to love Sister Hinckley. I recommend the book to anyone who simply wants to be uplifted by some profound, small and simple things.
Two representative quotes that my wife is using in a Sacrament Meeting talk on Sunday show how profound the simple can be:
“Be kind. Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” (p 68)
“There is something about spirituality that is central to the life of a woman. Not the kind of spirituality that only takes you to church on Sunday. I am talking about the kind of spirituality that makes you behave like a child of God.” (p 47)
