I didn’t want to thread-jack Eu’s great discussion on “His Laws” – but this is kind of related.

The Sabbath Day is a day of rest. I think it is necessary because it is helpful to us. But defining when to rest or what to rest from seems to require interpretation by mortals and individuals.

I have heard that a great discussion between Jewish Rabbi’s studying the Talmud posed the following question:

    Quote:

If a Jew (who is required to keep the Sabbath Holy) is lost in the desert, and soon looses track of what day it is, how can they still keep the Sabbath Day Holy?

    How would you answer that?

The good news is that there isn’t much to do out in the desert. Unless of course, you’re in Las Vegas or Reno, which could be a problem.

If a Jew was lost in the desert every day would be holy.

It’s a trick question. Time is money, so a Jew wouldn’t lose track of the time. 😯

I actually heard that line from a Jewish friend of mine, so I told him a slightly off-color Jewish/Catholic/Mormon joke. Good times!
