Someone directed me to this site today and as I read it, I have to say, there were some things that impressed me: Church Topics:

I only browse it , but I think it is pretty well “cookie cutter” doctrinal statements. Nothing controversial -but nothing that encourages one to seek more knowledge. Even the the stuff about the multiple first visions really didn’t say anything profound, just “the accounts compliment each other and emphasized different aspect of the experience. Hmmm, I guess at least the church is at least admitting there is more than one account. That’s progress? Maybe It’s a step in the right direction. I applaud them for that. Really. The First Vision article was short and lacking in detail, but they are talking about it. I like that.
