GuestMen of Valoris an excellent resource for men in the church. I think it helps you to revitalizes your priesthood responsibilities without being too preachy. I like the real life experiences coupled with appropriate scriptures that Millet uses. It is very inspiring without being too dogmatic. Millet shoots from the hip in these books (Men of Influence) was the first book that he wrote as a handbook for men in the church. Men of Valor is the follow up to Men of Influence, which I also have read. Millet gets personal about his priesthood and family responsibilities/service. I love how each chapter is followed up by questions that cause you to ponder and reflect introspectively. For this reason, I got a journal and wrote the answers to the questions. I can go back and see how my progress is going with each issue. I met Brother Millet in person and praised him for his work and how I thoroughly enjoyed it. Brother Robert L. Millet is a BYU professor of religion who was an institute teacher for CES prior to his appointment at BYU. He was a former Stake President in the Louisiana Baton Rouge Stake. He earned his doctoral degree in Religious Studies from Florida State University. He does a lot of ecumenical work discussing topics along the Faith vs. Works paradigm, often taking speaking assignments juxtaposed with Evangelical Christian speakers. I highly recommend Men of Valor and Men of Influencefor the men of the church. -
