GuestI am thankful today for: My family – Everyone is home today except my oldest son, who is serving a mission in Washington State. Noise and chaos can be wonderful.
My parents and siblings – Despite our lack of time together and different perspectives on lots of things, we love each other. That is a good thing.
The happiness one of my younger brothers has found – after 15 years of difficulty. May it work out as he hopes.
My health – Sure, I need to lose weight, but, overall, I am functional. At my age, that’s a blessing.
My job – I truly love what I do, and I’m good at it – which helps. It doesn’t pay much, but I’m doing good and having fun – and that’s more important in the long run.
My ward – I am fortunate to live where I live – and where I lived before moving here. I recognize that as a true blessing.
All of you – I truly love this community and am grateful I was invited to participate when it all began.
Many more things, but this is a start.

GuestI am thankful for family
wife and children
freedom
economic security
vaccinations
awesome cool phones
wonderful spiritual experiences.
While I am going through a transition in regards to how I view the church’s past, today I feel thankful for polygamy.
Without it, me, my brothers, my father, his father, etc. don’t exist (at least not in our current states). We
are all the product of a third wife. How many of all of us mormons have at least one ancestor who is a product
of a polygamous marriage? So while the practice seems weird/deplorable, if we were to wave a wand and prevent from happening,
how many of us would go Michael J. Fox in back to the future.

GuestOn Thursday I came to the sudden realization that I am very thankful for the sense of taste. I’m really glad that was given to us from God (or the aliens through genetic engineering, or evolution through natural selection). Food, especially some food prepared really well, tastes terrific and fills my mouth and tummy with joy. My favorite kind of food is the GOOD food. It’s the best.
I’m also thankful for my family.
And that my ancestors didn’t eliminate too many of yours, or run off with the third wife.

GuestHappy TG to all American members. (How do you eat turkey twice a year though, seriously?!

😆 )I actually had the conversation with my wife why we ONLY eat turkey twice a year. It’s a good tasting bird especially when cooked right, and it’s a relatively healthy meat compared to say pork and beef.

GuestLast year we had goose (wild) for Christmas. Much nicer, but you have to cook it in a very different way from turkey. I find turkey meat a bit bland frankly, and it gets dry. I’d never had goose for Christmas before, so it made a change. From what I can tell the farmed geese tend to be fatty, but we got ourselves this wild goose cheap, so that was that.
I have too many bad memories of turkey leftovers for days (weeks?) after Christmas. Twice a year would be too much for me, although there’s always the trash bucket, but I find that wasteful!
