GuestHey there everyone. Sorry I’ve been so busy lately. I haven’t really held up my end here. But I will try to do better, or as well as I can. I do love the positive nature of the forum. Anyway, not going to promise too much consistency because I am going to be in the process of moving in the next 2 months. We are moving to Singapore. So, in the short term, I’ll be super busy with that. In the long term, I’ll have a couple of time advantages to helping out: 1) being 15 hours + 1 day later, I can actually post in the future – well anyway, I’ll be able to post when the rest of you are asleep, and 2) my travel schedule will increase in my new job, so possibly more time to check in when I’m on the road. GuestWOW Singapore? Very cool. That sounds exciting. As always, I appreciate your time, and always your comments. Real life happens … and it should be your #1 priority.

GuestOur company just moved global headquarters to Singapore for all the tax reasons…I expect to be traveling there more myself in 2011. Be prepared for consistent, warm and humid weather.
Congrats and I hope your kids adjust, as I have heard good things about the international schools and the church there.
I look forward to hearing from you in the future (as u will be in the future)

GuestDon’t know how I missed this. Congrats Hawk! I have to say I will be somewhat saddened not to feel your presence in the geographic vicinity — even though we’ve never actually met. Wishing you all the best. January 4, 2011 at 7:34 pm #237892Anonymous
GuestHeber13 – let me know when you’re in town. We should try to meet up for lunch sometime! Here’s another weird bit to the story. We just met our Singapore bishop’s wife on Sunday – here in AZ. Apparently, they are originally from one of the other 2 wards that shares our building! Small world indeed. He’s from Idaho; she’s from Hong Kong. Anyway, she was really great. While there are bound to be fewer working women in our ward there, education levels and overall adventurousness will be higher. I imagine I’ll find a way to fit in fine. Plus, this gets me out of that blasted nursery!
I’m also getting the impression that we might be higher end of the income scale among members there, which might be better for my husband and slightly worse for me based on past experience. I have found that the higher the income level, the more open-minded, educated and interesting relief society is. My DH has found that the higher the income level, the more pompous, cold and competitive the priesthood is. So if we are higher than average, it will be better for him (more men who are down-to-earth, get-er-done types). We shall see!
