GuestWe have another new user who might be here for the wrong reasons. They’re one of the LDS “sex-addict” types we occasionally get. I approved his introduction, but I also sent him the following coaching PM: ************************************************************************************************************
Hi Ilovechrist77,
You posted your real name in your introduction. I approved your post. It is now public, and all future posts will go direct to public viewing. I edited your post to remove your name though before I approved it.
I would highly recommend not using your real name on our site, especially combined with a confession about a sexual addiction. Our site is monitored at times by Church HQ, and is viewed by many hundreds of people a day. It is also indexed by all the major search engines, so anyone out there could possibly find your post by typing your name into one of those search engines (employers, family members, friends, people who want to do you harm, etc.). It’s just all-around better to stay anonymous unless you have a clear and important reason for becoming a “public person.”
Lastly, our community is more geared towards supporting people with disbelief and doubts about the LDS Church. We can try talking about some limited areas that might intersect with sexual dysfunction and “sin,” but we tend to moderate and limit the conversations when they drifts into becoming a substitute for the Church repentance process.
I just wanted to give you the heads-up about how our community works. We keep pretty tight control at our site in order to ensure the content is focused on our site mission. I hope you find our materials and our community helpful.

GuestExcellent, Brian. I also changed the specific age to a more generic “in my 30’s” and deleted the name of the actual town in which this person lives – for the same reason you removed the name.

GuestGood catch Ray. Thanks. I didn’t notice those. November 12, 2011 at 8:36 am #247296Anonymous
GuestYeah, I got a night club vibe off this guy too, and I tried a few times to approve his post after removing both his name and location information, but I find that I frequently get kicked off the site when I try to post or do anything as an admin. It’s just tricky for me. Anyone else have these issues? Maybe it’s my browser. November 14, 2011 at 3:27 am #247297Anonymous
GuestSorry Angie, haven’t had those issues on my side. November 14, 2011 at 1:52 pm #247298Anonymous
GuestStrange. Never had those issues either. Are you talking about trying to do admin tasks from your phone browser? November 15, 2011 at 1:04 pm #247299Anonymous
GuestNo, just on my regular hp envy laptop. And not even admin tasks. Any posting at all. I was almost starting to think it was a sign because it so frequently doesn’t take it when I write something controversial! So I figured, Maybe the universe doesn’t want that statement out there. Maybe if I revise it. I’m not generally a superstitious person, but I am telling you, that is what was happening. Weird. ‘Course you might observe that I make plenty of outlandish statements that DO make it through the God filter . . .

GuestYeah, it’s only the outlandish statements that are true that make it.
