GuestGiven cwald’s comments to strebor, I pulled the post and parked it in that section for now. I sent the following PM to strebor and copied cwald: Quote:Do you want us to pull this post and move it behind the scenes, where your SP won’t be able to see it?
I’m going to do that, just as a precaution, but I will put it back into active status if that’s what you want. Let me know, please.
I am copying cwald on this message, just in case you don’t see it and don’t know why the post got pulled for now. Please, the two of you, talk about this overall situation privately.
Thoughts?

GuestIt’s a good topic, and the discussion was going good. Good call on the security issues though. Our site *IS* monitored. We know that for a fact. And we know the Cache Valley local leaders have monitored the site.
I would like to get permission to edit out the personally identifying information and put it back out there if possible. If that doesn’t work, then I think we owe it to the uses involved to keep it off the public internet.

GuestWill you tackle that, Brian? If it is edited and put back into the public view, cwald’s comments need to be deleted, since they tie it explicitly to CV.

GuestWayfarer specifically had an outstanding post on the TR questions, I thought. I will spend time tonight editing the thread so we can get it out there again, if that’s ok?

GuestThat’s OK with me, Heber – but ask the two involved, since I sent them a PM asking for their input. November 21, 2011 at 1:32 am #247599Anonymous
GuestI have sent a PM to both strebor and cwald with suggested edits so the posts are more generic, but left in things that still talk about family and SP discussions, and asked the two of them to provide their opinion on how much to edit or leave as is. Last time I sent a PM to strebor (months and months ago)…he didn’t seem to care to make changes…he seemed to think if it would take this much effort to carefully monitor his posts, he didn’t care to bother to participate (not in an angry way, more of an annoyed way of he is too busy to put take the time for it).
Interestingly, I also received a PM from wayfarer (I think Ray was copied) asking if this thread could be sent to him…he wanted his post on the subject. I sent a copy of his post to him through PM.
I’ll keep y’all updated.

Guestcwald told me that strebor’s internet has been down but that he wants the post put back up so he can get feedback, knowing his SP might read it. I asked cwald to find out if strebor minds us “de-personalizing” the post first (since I think simply reposting it as is, with all the criticism of the SP intact, might be like waving a red flag in front of a bull) – but I told him we will repost it in whatever way strebor wants. Either way, cwald’s comment needs to be deleted – and he understands and asked for that to be done. If we repost it, I think the admins ought to try to comment quickly and try to keep it constructive and not let it become just a venting session. I liked the way it was going, but it has the potential to explode.

Gueststrebor might not have internet access for the next couple of days, but cwald said to go ahead and edit the post and delete his comments. Heber, I did some original editing when I moved it to the Parking Lot – but why don’t you also edit and leave it for the rest of us to look over. I will go ahead and delete cwald’s comments from the thread. Once we have at least a couple of voices approving the editing, let’s go ahead and repost it.
Any objections to that plan?

GuestRay, your edits were better than mine…only thing I did was make sure the part quoted by SD in subsequent posts had the same words, and then I moved it to Support thread. I agree we should watch the conversation and keep it from blowing up.
