I think it was Elder Poelman who gave the talk on how the Church is not the Gospel, which was subsequently edited and re-recorded by the Church? Here is an announcement of his death:

Died of old age?! He’d had a stroke a few years ago as I recall. Certainly a very decent man and humble given his willingness to go along with the redo of his conference address. There’s a nice piece in the SLTrib today by Peggy Fletcher Stack about him. That is one of the reasons I think Christ needs to come again is to correct mistakes made in his church. The only place you find leaders of our church publicly admit this is with family history work. That’s it. To Elder Poleman: Farewell to my brother in Christ and in the cause. I salute you! Catch you on the flip side, bro. Tell Jesus when you see him to send more help. We need it!
