Giving thanks and being reflective on the positive is a good tradition.

This year, I’m particularly grateful for a few things I want to share:

    – my kids who give me constant reasons to be striving to do my best to teach and set an example for and to care for in every way. They fill my life with meaning and love that idont know where it comes from, but is the most powerful force in my life!!

    – my wife who despite all we’ve gone through, is always trying to put up with me, and especially takes good care of the kids in our home

    – a job, with this economy and the times we live, I’m grateful for a good job that helps me provide for my family and gives me opportunities to develop my skills and gives me challenges that are rewarding

    – this forum that has helped me hang on to my testimony when I felt my life was imploding, but now I can process my problems while keeping a balanced approach of calling the good in the church, the bad is called for what it is, and the weird stuff is fun to talk about!! I’m a much more balanced and healthy person because of Ray for pointing me to the site, Brian for taking hours to write and talk to me on my issues, and everyone else who has challenged me with ideas and points of view that stretch my thinking and beliefs.

    – my God and Savior that I know are always there, even if they don’t need to intervene in my life…I know they are there and judging me with love and kindness, which provides me hope to keep seeking goodness and embrace it in my life.

I love you all. Thanks for your samples, your words, and your companionship and friendship.

    happy Thanksgiving (gobble gobble)

Amen to all you said, heber13.

i’m grateful for god’s sense of humor, that allows me to still kick around makin’ all sorts of mistakes and still feeling loved.

for close friends in and out of the church who call me on my crap when I’m not making sense

for my limited understanding of the Way, and how it has helped me embrace life, the church, and other things for what they are.

and for what appears to be a beautiful autumn day to enjoy life and continue to be grateful.

    cheers!

Thanks for this post, Heber – and for your thoughts. I don’t know if you realize how much it means to me to read what you wrote.

I am thankful for many things, but today I simply want to say thanks to everyone here for enriching my life so much. It has been a wonderful experience to participate here. Any help I have provided pales in comparison to what I’ve gained – and I’m not sure that balance will change, ever.

I want to say a special thank you to those of you who struggle with situations that are much harder than mine – for being examples to me. I don’t mean to add any kind of pressure by saying that, and I hope deeply that doesn’t happen, but I do need to say it:

    Thank you!
