GuestBrian asked me to do an intro, so I suppose this is the place to do that. Sarah is not my real name, but I use it as a user name sometimes, so comments I make don’t come up on google under my real name. Not that I make really embarrassing comments – it is just for privacy. Anyway, my story is that I grew up in the church, got married in the temple, kids right away, etc. I had a crisis of faith back in 2000, but have stuck with the church all of this time. However, church has become less tolerable for me over time and my friend relationships have been strained somewhat, so I could use some support. I have tried to make friends in and outside the church, but both have issues, so I would like to find friends who are Mormon, but understand where I am coming from. My crisis of faith came from reading books about church history. Polygamy being the clincher. It has helped me to watch videos on Joseph Campbell. My husband and 4 kids are TBM, except for my oldest child. That has been difficult. My kids don’t know how I feel. That’s my intro.

Guestsarah, welcome to the group. You will find that we are a very understanding & have gone through some of the same things you’re experiencing (or in the process). Feel free to express yourself. Mike from Milton.

GuestThanks for your intro, sarah. Welcome to the forum. I hope we can be helpful in some way and supportive. At the heart of it all, that’s about all we try to do.

GuestHey Sarah, Welcome to the group. I hope you can find the support you are looking for here. I can identify with you when you mentioned polygamy being the clincher when it came to understanding the church’s dirty laundry. That one really sent me over the edge too.

GuestWelcome to the forum, Sarah. I like Campbell and his views on he myths and mystical. It can have a positive purpose in our lives. I look forward to reading more in your posts. -
