Keep an eye on “tomirvine”. He just registered to comment, and his justification text was: Quote:I want to contribute a positive message on developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
There might be nothing wrong with what he will contribute, and he might fit our group very well – but it’s obvious from the message that he might not.
I didn’t approve him right away, but I have no problem if someone else does. Either way, does anyone want to send him a PM asking for more information about himself and his reason for wanting to join?
He has a beginners blog site at scripturalteachings.wordpress.com Looking through those posts, I’d say he is a pretty full believing LDS, looks older and closer to retirement age.
I will send a PM, letting him know the purpose of the site is to help everyone have a support group for whatever they believe, but the tone is positive, and if he intends to use the forum to tell others they must accept a personal relationship with Christ as the only way to peace, his evangelism may not do well with this group. He must also understand we do not use this forum to promote other websites or advertise, so if he is trying to link to his personal blog, that would be moderated if it doesn’t apply to the conversation.
On the other hand, if he’d like to join the conversation and share his views without dismissing others’ , he is welcome.
I will let you know what his response is.
Thanks, Heber. I appreciate it. I approved him but also noted that he looked borderline. Thanks for checking up on his background. I figured he wasn’t a hacker/bot by his registration, and that we could catch any nonsense if/when he tried his first post (if he’s some kind of Evangelical or what not). I didn’t get a response from him yet. He may not be a frequent visitor, and not much of a danger. We’ll see.
