Fwiw, given our problems with the cybersquatter who set up StayLDS.org, I would think we would be sensitive to a situation where people post a petition addressed to the Church at a site that is a cybersquatter mirror of the most popular Mormon-member-based blog online. Honestly, I’m disappointed – deeply. I don’t want anything to do with a site that employs those tactics when I condemn those tactics when directed against this site.
I needed to say that, privately to this group, given some of the repostings and endorsements I saw today.
That’s all.
That’s frustrating! I will say that at least they are cyber squatting on a domain name that actually applies to the purpose of the petition, and financial disclosure and common consent do have a connection. It’s still unfortunate for the site that has been up and running for so long.
But the StayLDS.org guy has nothing to do with staying LDS…it’s just plain vicious and deceptive.
Vent away brother! I understand. Like Heber said though, at least the site is actually about doing something in Mormonism by common consent. I’m surprised BCC didn’t buy the other domains. I will never make that mistake again with a site.
