Just curious what you think are the source of the positive changes we’ve seen in the church lately – an improved CHI (although people don’t like the TR requirement for certain Melch Priesthood Ordinances or the vasectomy discouragement), and the rebaptism of a September 6 member without the requirement of disavowing former writings that led to excommunication….

Some will be tempted to say it’s God, but in my estimation, there are often practical, here and now pressures and influences that stimulate thinking about change that leads to revelation and inspiration from the lds leaders.

    Thoughts?

I think the current changes are happening due to large losses in activity and reductions in people who are paying tithing (which is probably also due to the economy).

It’s interesting. As I’ve said in other posting, I’ve been totally inactive for 20+ years. My wife & I have started attending Church again

about 18 months ago. The same ward & same stake. IMO there has basically been zero changes from what I can see.

Personalities change because the population changes. That’s about it.

Maybe I haven’t been digging far enough.

    Mike from Milton.
