Everyone, please read my comment to Featherina in that thread and let me know what you think . The comment was out of line for our board culture. I lost interest in that thread and stopped reading it. I had a feeling that it would go sour if left out too long though. The Mall issue is such a thorn. I fall into that briar patch often myself. People can express hurt over issues. We can talk about problems. But our rules of etiquette ask that we work towards solutions. Threads can not be left as merely rant festivals. Our community is a support community to find ways of resolving those feelings or working out practical solutions.
There are plenty of other places to express anger.
Good call on Featherina’s post…it crossed the line. The topic has run its course, IMO. It has become a debate on whether it was a waste of sacred money or a good investment. While the topic is a hot topic many people struggle with in seeing how the Church works like a corporation instead of their idealistic expectations of holy causes…honestly, I’m not seeing any comments that are discussing coping mechanisms or ways to support each other despite differing opinions on whether people like it or not.
It simply is not meeting the forum guidelines.
I added one last comment to support the lock and remind people about our community spirit. Let’s just leave it locked and move on.
I know the City Creek Mall is a hot button topic. It’s a thorn of an issue, and I struggle to find positive things about it personally too. I think this thread has run its course. We decided it isn’t working towards support and solutions. I’m not directing this at anyone in particular. I can be guilty of falling into this briar patch at times too.
Let’s try to keep in mind this part of our community “rules and etiquette”:
