    Hi All,

I am a pharmacy technician and I currently work full time at a job where I have little to no benefits. My boss is cheap to say the least. Well, I have an interview with Rite Aid on Friday. It is a five minute walk from my house, and originally the position was supposed to be full time. I received a call this afternoon that the position had been switched to part time, and they are going to hire a pharmacy cashier full time instead. I gather that they are doing it because it is cheaper than paying a technician what they’re worth, which I get, from a business stand point. Well, to be honest, the pharmacist who is going to interview me on Friday (he said it wasn’t going to be much of an interview) knows that I would rather have full time. He said he would come back to me with an answer of some sort on Friday regarding how many hours at this store he can let me work. I hope it’s a high enough number and the pay is high enough that I can tell my current boss where to go jump off a cliff, because right now I’m in a pharmacy, but I’m not dealing with human medication, I’m dealing with pet medication, which is not what I went to school for. There isn’t the possibility of splitting my time between this possible new job and my current one, as my boss just won’t allow it. Since this position at Rite Aid was originally for a full time tech, I’m hoping that when I interview on Friday I can talk the pharmacist into somewhat close to full time hours. I do believe he is fighting for me, and this is a job that I’ve had to stay on their tail about for a week and a half now, because one day the pharmacist is out, then the store manager is out, etc. It’s been crazy, I’ve never had to stay on someone’s radar this hard for a job. The pharmacist did say to me he appreciated me “staying on top of this” and he told me the muckety-mucks above him are the ones pressuring him to hire a pharmacy cashier and not a tech. He told me on the phone today he really needs a tech in the back, not a pharmacy cashier. This new job would allow me to get out of the dead end job that I’m in, and allow me to move anywhere in the country I wanted, as well as possibly move up the food chain. Please keep me in your prayers, put me on the temple prayer list, think of me, cross your fingers, toes, and appendages because I really need to talk this man/store manager lady into a full time position, not a part time one. Thanks for your prayers in advance.

I’ll be thinking about and praying for you – that whatever is best will happen and that whatever happens you will be at peace.
