Shawn is back and even more mercurial than ever. He’s going to melt down again. I can guarentee it. Dude needs medication, but can we tell him that in an open forum?

I know, …I don’t know what else to say. I’m reading through his “Shawn is back and crumbling…” thread: http://forum.staylds.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3554 Keep a close eye on him. I agree he is unstable. Maybe we can help him. Probably not. I don’t think we should give him much slack the second time around.
I’m not happy with the deceptive approach. Does he not see he is losing even more credibility? How are we to know anything he is saying? The guy needs help, but can we tolerate this in the forum? What about just banning him?
He’s now on one of his hardcore orthodox swings. I don’t know if he’s off his meds or just experiencing a “normal swing in cycle”, but he’s throwing around veiled insults again. Check out his most recent comments in Featherina’s post about homosexuality and his warning in Angry Mormon’s intro post to be careful about being here.
His messages sound grumpy to me, stuff that sounds like he wishes people on this site would see things uplifting like he does when he has the spirit, and of course, since none of us have the spirit, we just can’t see it. That’s the feeling I get. What bothers me is the first crack at a newbie (Angry Mormon) with “be wary of stuff you read on this site”, with nothing that applies to that thread…just a general fear statement. That’s uncool.
I will send him a PM about it, and ask him what his deal is with the grumpy posts in Featherina’s thread and his fish analogy, which simply didn’t work for many readers.
His response to me:

He doesn’t really get it. No apology either. I expect he’ll continue to be Shawn.

So that’s why I said the 15 are WISER. My comment was much softer than his.
Anyway, I guess I am bothered by a lot of things. Ray continually invalidates what I post, but he does it in a way that doesn’t break the rules. Wayfarer is not helping anyone stay lds. Think about that seriously for a minute. If anyone follows wayfarer’s “way” they will only get further away from Church orthodoxy and contemn its practices. He seems to get away with a lot of crap due to the way he rambles philosophically.
Yeah, he really doesn’t get it – but I hope my response to wayfarer’s comment helps in some way. wayfarer was over the line in that comment, but I want to try a more indirect, subtle approach with him. He’s not Shawn, and I hope he will understand the point I’m making without being blunt. If someone other than me can PM wayfarer and gently mention that he just did to Shawn what Shawn has done to others . . . or we can see if he gets it from my comment.
If people don’t agree with him … then obviously the only reasonable explanation is they are being deceived by the Devil (aka don’t have the spirit). 
wayfarer has talked with me, briefly and privately, about Shawn’s return. He is very concerned, as am I (and, I know, cwald), about Shawn’s most recent post and about a potential train wreck similar to or even worse than the last time he was commenting actively. Does anyone feel comfortable starting a conversation with Shawn privately and trying to see if he still is seeking professional help? He obviously needs help beyond what we can provide, but “kicking him out” without personal, private communication isn’t a good option given his depressive tendencies.
