I noticed NOM Portlanders are gathering…kind of wondering if anyone here is in the area and attending. Not real active on NOM (well or here either)…but would be good to meet a few folks. Especially nice to have someone to talk with about…staylds type of stuff. Yes. There are several of us. If you would like information about the mormon stories Portland facebook group, contact me or sundance or mom3 via PM.
How about the Eugene area? Go ducks! There is basically TWO (NOMish) network groups that I am aware here in Oregon. There is the Mormon Stories Portland Support Group on facebook: As far as I know there is only three strayLDS folks in this group…but there are several NOMs. Contact Sundance for information.
There is also a NOM exmormon Porland group. You can find this group on the NOM page via the “gatherings” forum. From my understanding, these group do cross over and do some things together…such as gatherings and attend the Book of Mormon Musical in Portland tonight and tomorrow. (I am so jealous.)
There are NOMs in the Eugene area, and we have met in Corvallis to allow some of the southern folks to attend. Being in Central Oregon, I do not meet often with the group. I think jwald and I met three times: once in Salem, once in Corvallis, and once in Forest Grove.
I am also not a facebook type guy, so I can’t even help you much with that.

Thanks cwald. Joined the Mormon stories fb group. My brother went to the bofm musical and said he doesn’t get the hype. It was clearly written by a couple of foul teenage minded boys who just liked taking others beliefs and turning them foul.
This shocked me as this from a guy who has not been to church in 20 years, rarely says anything good about church, drinks, smokes, chews and loves poking fun at church members.
His favorite lds joke is “why should you never take a Mormon hunting with you?” “Because they drink all your beer”
I asked what was so bad…he replied “let’s just say watching Jesus butt@$&? Joseph Smith…including strap on @&#&! Is not what I consider quality entertainment”

😯 No way??!!I saw the ‘I believe’ song on youtube and thought it looked ok. If that’s where it goes next then I’ve suddenly lost interest!
