GuestIs it just my corner of the church or does it seem perfecting the saints has kind of slipped off the radar? Seems like all we get from the stake these days is missionary work and indexing. Maybe I’m just whining because I’ve got social anxiety and my fc has really dulled my enthusiasm for spending hours on hours indexing after looking at a screen already 40 hours a week for my job. I personally wish that we would stop using the term “perfect” all together. I understand that the “3 fold mission of the church” is really a 3 pronged approach to bring souls to Christ. As usual, sometimes we get so bogged down in the minutia and refuse to see the forest for the trees.
I also would haaaaate to see an emphasis in perfecting the saints similar to what was done in the time of BY. No thank you.

GuestThere is no official 3 folds of the church anymore. The church did away with that about 4 or 5 years ago. I can’t remember what we call it any longer but I a meeting a few months ago the SP reminded us all that we don’t call it the 3 folds of the church. June 10, 2013 at 10:48 pm #270027Anonymous
GuestThat was the same time caring for the poor was added as a specific focus of the Church. I don’t care about titles and such, but I’m glad Pres. Monson officially added caring for the poor to the list. June 10, 2013 at 11:04 pm #270028Anonymous

Agreed. The greatest ‘prophetic mission’ of President Monson has been his focus on caring for the needy.

GuestGood to know. I won’t whine about missing out on a fold now. Funny I never heard that but I haven’t been in a ward council mtg for almost 5 years now so I guess that’s how I missed it. Funny how different callings swing you out into eddie’s of the church where you miss out on news changes like that. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
