This book just arrived in my life collection. As a person who desires to remain tethered to the LDS faith, I am finding this book to be a gem. It was compiled in 1986. The book is a collection of essays written by scholars who have a less than traditional LDS faith practice. It opens with the classic Dialogue piece about the Iron rodders, and the Liahonites. Among the contributing writers are Laurel Thatcher Ulrich ( Lusterware), Richard Bushman, Emma Lou Thayne, and more. I’ve only read two of the pieces so far, though we may not be completely eye to eye on every topic, I find them healing, and faith promoting.
I love this book and wish they would reprint it. I got the cheapest used copy I could find. Yes Ann, it was pricey. I had mine waiting in Amazon watching the price get low enough so I could buy it.
