Well as many of you may know F.A.I.R. has changed over to FAIRMORMON. In conjunction with this the discussion board to assist those with questions, in a faith crisis, or needing support helping a family member, friend, or ward member in crisis has also been updated and is now up and running.

    http://FairMormonSupport.org” class=”bbcode_url”>http://FairMormonSupport.org

This site like the previous version will not allow snarkiness from anyone including faithful. In fact if anyone can get away with a little venting, it will be the doubter in crisis. This board is only for those who need answers and support and are wanting to lead with faith (critics wishing to hurt faith need not apply). This forum seeks to help people and is not a place to win arguments or to attempt to prove the Church false or wrong, but rather a SAFE place where members with questions can go to work out the emotion of a faith crisis or getting support while they interact with someone struggling. I realize this may not fit many of you as you may not see yourself in crisis any longer. But this would also be a good place for spouses who need support or if you know someone who desires to believe and needs help putting together a paradigm where faith in the restored gospel can be nourished and can flourish.

Hope you might help spread the word in places where those with questions might find it.

Looks like a useful site where some here could certainly fit in. FAIR was my only link at one point, but since my questions/doubts are much less history focused I only found limited help there. Nevertheless, they did and do play a part in my relationship with the church and I think others would benefit from that forum.

Thanks for the link. I am hopeful that it will be a major place for healing and understanding. I will visit it a bit before I send family and friends to it, but it may be a great key for teaching a traditional believer what some of the tough issues are, and maybe even help close the gap between the two.

I sincerely hope it helps those who need the type of help it can provide.

Guys, Thanks for all the kind words.

Below was my post on NOM and I thought it would help here as well.

Let me tell you a little about how I operate and how I am hopeful that this support forum will share in this same way.

I feel in the gospel we are taught a context to understand Mormonism in. This context comes from General Authorities, Conference Talks, manuals, ward leaders and teachers, magazines, peers, and a host of other sources. This construct in many instances is faulty in that once we dig deeper and discover information and take on a more informed outlook, this taught contextual paradigm simply won’t fit. Now whether the Gospel is true or not, this holds true. What I try to do is to help people deconstruct the old way that didn’t work. Tear it all down. Take out all the nonsense. I help members see that Tithing is not definitively Gross, Evolution is not definitively heresy, Leaders in the LDS church are not only one called and Authorized servants (though I would argue they have keys and priesthood), The Church does not have all truth, Joseph din’t just use the lesson manual version of translation, ect… ect… ect…

I truly feel like this method helps one re-center in a place that has greater claim on truth (less nonsense). That once we tear down this “this is the gospel, because this is the way it has always been taught” there is more room for faith. And I would argue that it creates a place where Faith is an absolutely valid option (not that the church is absolutely true but that the possibility of it being true is back on the table or at least closer to the table) Now I know some here will disagree but my point here is not to argue whether this will solve disbelief, but rather it is this kind of openness that you can expect on this forum. We are not going to bash leaders, but we will offer alternative ways to make things fit.

I know several people who are assisting with this site. Several of them see the world in much the same way as I do. In this forum you should not expect a rigid one size fits all, but rather the desire to give you the flexibility that is inherently in the gospel. We have drawn lines in the sand at times and I don’t believe that it was God who drew all of them. And rather then push back and entrench we want to try and see if we can take the things that are hang ups and see if we can share how we make that fit. Now, please know that some things are Doctrine and so there may be little or no room for flexibility. But I often think those things are much smaller in number then many LDS think. I also think many Doctrines are designed to place more agency with the member and to allow them to be lead by the HG or their conscience and instead we have somehow missed that and drawn lines that we thought were there but really were not. Anyway this forum is not for everyone and I don’t presume it will help everyone here regain belief, but I do hope you will feel comfortable using this forum as one more place to help those who need support and who are struggling. Thanks again – Bill

Sounds like they are focused more on resolving doubts than helping people deal with other problems that interfere with activity, such as , repeatedly faulty leaders, church culture, church policy or the problems that stem from being very different. I hope it helps people with doubts, however.

I would say it tries to tackle what you suggested as well. It has a support forum and one regarding culture, history, doctrine, ect… That is the one that you should try out
