This is a double post. I attached this to Sunbelts – Talk request thread. Which means you may read it twice, but I think it deserves a separate thread from his. I don’t want to confuse conversations. I really liked this piece for those of us who are trying to help build bridges in our religion with our LGBT friends – I thought you might like it, too.
Thanks for sharing Mom3, a worthwhile read. :thumbup: I have been on a small up and down journey over this article. At first I was pretty exstatic that this would come from the Deseret News.
Then I realized that it was an opinion piece and that the opinion piece that it was responding to published only a month ago promoted homosexuality as something that can be changed.
Now, I accept that this article is still good news as it helps to spead the word about more tolerant and accepting positions that the church has taken in recent years. (I believe that many are still living decades behind the church’s latest official stances on these issues)
It is not the giant leap forward that I might have thought it to be but it can be a tiny step.
