Some good advice from Kevin Barney over at BCC today: http://bycommonconsent.com/2014/03/30/the-dialogue-diet/

I almost didn’t follow the link, but I’m glad I did. I’ve seen a few articles from Dialogue but didn’t really realize what the journal is all about. I don’t know that I’ll read everything, but I’m definitely going to start working on it.

Thanks for sharing the link, hawkgirl. I’ve read that article a few times before. I really like it. 🙂

Really great article and useful recommendation. I loved the excerpt from the interview with the Rabbi. I long for the day when our leaders will talk openly like that. I feel like Elder Uchtdorf is trying to. I’m grateful for that.

Unfortunately for me, this hasn’t helped much. While I find studying and reading interesting and enjoyable, it still doesn’t change the fact the church isn’t, and never will be, what I thought it was and want(ed) it to be. I’ve done a great deal of study about the church, though, and I’m glad that nothing really shocks me or makes me angry anymore. Another way it has helped is in knowing that I’m not alone.

A FC/FT is a highly charged emotional experience, more than an intellectual one. In my case, the answer has been more about dealing with feelings of betrayal/grief. The best comparison is to the stages of grief. I’m currently bouncing around between bargaining, depression and acceptance. I look forward to the day when I spend most of my time in acceptance, or in other words, become a firmly rooted stage 5er or maybe even a stage 6er. This is why staylds helps me more than any other site. People express their feelings here in an environment of support and acceptance.
