As I am sure all of you remember, Bruce is a fundamentalist Mormon, not an LDS member. He just posted a comment on the thread about the FP letter telling someone to study and pray for personal answers to his questions that distorted the letter badly – and then he compared LDS members to Muslim jihadists. I called him on it in the thread, but I also went back and looked at his comments in totality.

He comments very rarely now, and he almost always does do when there is a chance for him to call the LDS Church a cult or an apostate institution. His comments that can be seen as positive to any degree are few and far between.

I don’t like to suggest banning long-time participants, but I’d like to discuss it in Bruce’s case. I think he doesn’t care one bit about our mission and wants to participate primarily to call the LDS Church an apostate cult that is condemned by God for straying from the glory days of Joseph Smith.

    What do you all think?

My personal style goes more toward staying on him about our mission until he either gets it or loses interest, but I know that is more work and I am not here enough to be much help with it.

…so maybe after a clear warning specifically saying banning is on the line we could try a temporary suspension on the next infraction for a month or so, followed by a permanent ban if it happens again afterward.

That’s my ideal approach, as well, Orson – but this is at least the third or fourth time I’ve told him to knock it off. I’m just frustrated with him.
