    In the instructions for performing the consecration of oil, the priesthood bearer is instructed to be sure to consecrate the OIL and not the CONTAINER OF OIL.

    I think this is an apt metaphor for the Church.

    Ha. How about that.

    So now to extend that metaphor to making sure that the container is open when the consecration is performed. :?:

    and the need to empty the container and pour in new oil when the old oil starts to turn, which it inevitably does if not used for its intended purpose regularly enough

    Also, no idea why but the link takes me to 20.6#206 instead of 20.6#205… even though the link clearly says 205. :crazy: Clicking on the consecration link once there did it for me.

    Edit: Oh, the link should be 20.5 instead of 20.6. What’s after the # doesn’t matter.

    And not to make light of your good insight, I just couldn’t help myself:
