GuestIt’s worth a listen – he is talking about commandments and choice. September 28, 2014 at 1:44 am #289981Anonymous
GuestExcellent talk. Also, having him talk at the Women’s Meeting is as close to approved Mormon porn for women that my wife and daughters are going to get.

GuestI only heard it peripherally. Nothing really leapt out at me. The few things I do remember. Nothing can change the fact that we are children of god. Just being a child of god is no guarantee. There was a phrase that I sort of remember, it takes more that a birth certificate to get blessings or something along those lines.
I don’t remember the specifics of the talk, I’ll wait for a transcript, but the talk was kind of meh for me.

GuestI did like the part where he talked about commandments not being something we do just because, but have meaning – and we always have the choice to keep or not keep them but whatever we choose our heavenly parents will always love us (paraphrased). I also like the part near the end where he talked about how our appearance, dress size, etc., doesn’t matter to God. September 28, 2014 at 2:18 am #289984Anonymous
Guest? Please explain to us folks who no longer participate in mormonism. Ie. … I’m not gong to watch or read the Conference ensign.

GuestHe’s getting props for two other things too (aside from being apostolic man candy): 1) repeatedly referencing “Heavenly Parents” instead of just HF, and 2) stating that this session opens General Conference (whereas in the past, it was specifically not considered part of it even though PH session is). I’m not positive what you’re asking, cwald. If I’m understanding you and him correctly, I think his message was that our Heavenly Parents (and I did note that as Hawkgrrrl pointed out – he used that term repeatedly) will always be our Heavenly Parents and will always love us, no matter what. He did talk about commandments (in general, no specifics) and did say there was a necessity in keeping them, love seemed to me to be the between every line in the talk. That said, I have had many experiences, as I’m sure others here have, where what I heard is probably different from what others heard – and isn’t that just wonderful?

:silent: I’m not real sure this is a good idea. Pretty funny but…
