I read this earlier. Very thought provoking. Dang we are privileged.I found it interesting that people really couldn’t believe that others would go 1/2 way around the world and just give service. They assume you will steal their kids! Wow. We are blessed and live around generous folks. My community just rallied behind a very sick girl in ward and it was great to see.

GuestGreat piece. I bookmarked it to use in the future and shared it with friends. Thanks Hawkgrrl for writing it. I should have known it was you,(I didn’t look at the name) I have a lot of your stuff bookmarked. December 2, 2014 at 7:48 am #292280Anonymous
GuestFor me its a foregone conclusion that we all have selfish reasons for serving. The challenges I have faced working with community volunteers who dont have temple recommends and years of training in how to be a good Mormon who never says no to a calling has forced me to always find out the person’s intrinsic motivation for serving . And then make sure as a volunteer leader I try to see they receive the benefits they are seeking. Otherwise they quit, fail to follow through on commitments or otherwise produce. I thought it was interesting how Angela wove interesting details about Cambodia into her article…a classic engaging teaching technique. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

GuestWhenever there is a picture of women in public in their PJ’s…it is a dead give away that Hawkgrrrl wrote that piece.
