GuestQuote:I would also like to note that it is ironic that in casting me out the Church has excommunicated the founder and current owner of the
http://StayLDS.com web site, which has provided resources for and helped thousands of LDS Church members stay in the Church after a crisis of faith. It should also be noted that President King
acknowledged none of my extensive history of support for people wanting to remain active in the Church during the disciplinary council, even though it was brought to his
attention on several occasions.
I’m not saying I’m really concerned about this, except that I recognize (and it’s easy to see) that while John may have founded and does apparently “own” the site he has not ever been particularly active here. Also recognizing that John does have access to this part of the forum, I choose to say nothing further. FWIW, I do support his right to appeal and I do think he makes a reasonable argument against excommunication. It does bother me that it may make some members of the forum skittish, however – I was once like that myself.

GuestI agree, I just read that myself. As Ray and Hawkgrrl have said, John has had very little to do with the site. Less than 200 posts. My concern is like yours Dark Jedi, this site is very different from other ones and I hope it doesn’t discourage people who need a place to collect themselves and think to be afraid. I think I will add that to my personal prayers. We have had some great new members join, I don’t want them to get derailed either. March 12, 2015 at 5:49 pm #296530Anonymous
GuestWhat makes it worse is the cyber squatter that took StayLDS.org, which has nothing to do with people staying LDS…it is clearly anti mormon propaganda. It is easy for people to mix them up. So even if people claim they want to help members “stay”…others may or may not believe them. That makes it hard for us. I just hope people will know us by our fruits. (or nibbler’s fruitiness
