I thought this is interesting: http://www.cem.va.gov/hmm/emblems.asp

These are the various emblems that can be placed on the grave markers for those who served in the military.

Yes, there is one for the lds church. See number 11.

    Interesting.

I tried to look at the symbols I liked, then see what religion they linked to.

Hard to beat a ram carrying a flag. After looking it up, a lamb of god carrying the flag of victory – I’m not too big on the theme of conquering, it can be misinterpreted. The Soka Gakkai International symbol was pretty cool too, reminded me of a spirograph. The wheel of righteousness stood out to me the most, it’s kind of like a ship’s wheel.

I’m not sure how I feel about ours. It certainly does set us apart from the others but it doesn’t have a very christian theme to it. I guess we have to steer clear of the cross and be unique at the same time.

    Interesting.

Fwiw, Soka Gakkai is a Japan-based religion that is extremely conservative. Seriously, it makes the LDS Church look radically liberal in some ways. I saw it firsthand on my mission.
