Just as the Subject above states:

    Happy Fathers Day.

    May your wives show affection.

    May your children show gratitude.

Thank you. Such a nice thought! That is the best part of Father’s Day…having the kids take time to say some nice things. It’s nice. 🙂

Would be nice if my ex would let me see the kids on Father’s Day. I mean, it’s only specified that she will in the decree, not like it’s anything important, you know.

I avoid church, and people in general on FD because I don’t need a bunch of people reminding me that I’m supposed to get them that day.

Sorry it is such a painful day for you.

Me, too. My DD is currently dating a guy who has a son from a previous marriage. He didn’t get his son either because it’s every other weekend and this wasn’t the one. She told us how low he was feeling and that she was just letting him be this weekend. It saddened my heart – and your story does, too NSG.

Ew. I didn’t realize that any states didn’t include Father’s Day in the standard visitation boilerplate. Here, it’s half day on the kid’s birthday, full day on FD and the father’s birthday. (Or Mother’s Day if the father has primary custody.) Not that my ex has honored any of those yet, though; the only I’ve gotten to see either of them on their actual birthdays was when she needed them out of the house for a couple hours and my mom was the only person available to take them from 3:30-6PM on a weekday. Once I found out, I bailed out of work early and got to mom’s by 4:45.

A female friend has the odd situation of a birthday that falls on Father’s Day once every few years. The judge eventually said on those years, they are to go by the regular weekend schedule.
