GuestExcellent, really excellent, especially the “good, better, best” suggestions/options. July 3, 2015 at 6:22 pm #301930Anonymous
GuestI was content for a long time with “hate the sin, love the sinner,” but he’s asking for an honest accounting from people with that view. When have you loved the sinner? What constitutes loving the sinner? Put yourself in the “sinner’s” shoes – would that look like love to you? I hope turinturambar will share some thoughts on this.

Great questions. I would also like to see those same questions applied to all sinners. Yes LGBT needs to be inclusive, but we have put two earrings as a sin, coffee, and more. We are a very intolerant group in many ways.
My wish isn’t to take a way from the article or threadJust wondering if ironically, it would take an LGBT war to finally shake us of our exclusionary tradition. July 3, 2015 at 10:41 pm #301932Anonymous
GuestQuote:But while the Atonement is meant to help us all become more like Christ, it is not meant to make us all the same. Sometimes we confuse differences in personality with sin. We can even make the mistake of thinking that because someone is different from us, it must mean they are not pleasing to God. This line of thinking leads some to believe that the Church wants to create every member from a single mold – that each one should look, feel, think, and behave like every other. This would contradict the genius of God, who created every man different from his brother, every son different from his father. (President Uchdorf)
I really enjoyed the article. What a wonderful read. The above quote really hit home with me today.
DarkJedi, thank you so much for the link.

GuestThe Montgomery’s are great. They are trying hard to lovingly say on the church with their gay son. -
