Hello : I want to spend more time here as I am over my faith crisis . I have been on other discussion boards but I am finding them very negative toward the church. If your like me trying to recover from a faith crisis the last thing you need is being negative !!!!!!! I was very active at NOM and I did like it over there but I find it not very positive lately would anybody agree ?? I am very at ease with my decision to stay LDS and glad of it , I pray for all of those who are going through a crisis of faith as I know from expierience it is not an easy road at all. thanks. jgaskill, Glad to hear this from you. I also appreciate your prayers. It’s a difficult thing that we all have gone through and continue to go through, probably to some degree for the rest of our lives.
I can’t say about current discussion boards, as this is the only one I have any interest in, but I know what you mean about the negativity. When I first had my faith crisis, I sought out help online and found only hate. It was so repulsive that I withdrew and was totally alone in my feelings for a very long time. Finding StayLDS was a huge blessing for me because of the tone here. I don’t mean that this is the one true forum, because other people don’t like the too-positive stance here, and would prefer to vent… and if that helps them, that’s fine with me… it’s just that it doesn’t help me the way StayLDS does.

jgaskill – Thanks for giving us more time with you. Thank you also for the compliment, we strive to be heart helping, and so much of that credit goes to the Admins who set the tone. It is also a compliment that we can discuss painful, tough issues together and still find hope. I am glad to have your input. It is especially helpful when someone can cross through the experience and make it work. You can help in ways others of us who seem to be taking longer can do.

Thanks, and I’m glad you’ll be a regular here.🙂 We’re fortunate to have you. I freely admit that I often struggle in my attempts to remain positive. I want to be positive though, so I try to hang around positive influences.
I have found StayLDS has the right balance of constructive criticism and positivity for me. As far as other boards go, I couldn’t handle NOM when I first entered my own commitment crisis. I have been over there in the last few months and its easier for me now, but I can’t get too committed to too many discussion forums, so I post here almost exclusively for religious discussion.
