The following article is written by Elder Rnlund’s niece. It is interesting, to say the least.

Apparently, he also was a registered Democrat the last time he registered to vote.

Nice. Not just him, but her. It would be hard to have my family member castigated without any real knowledge. Following Elder Scott’s passing I have decided I want to stop completely assuming that I know everything about the guys in the burgundy chairs. Clearly I didn’t know Elder Scott. I had no beefs with him, but enough online posts about other’s people’s personal experiences taught me I didn’t know squat.

I also remember when Uchtdorf and Bednar first came in, Bednar was the darling of the moment. Young, red hair, great opening address about Tender Mercies. A week later every testimony in my ward flowed with the line Tender Mercies. No one mentioned the German guy. People couldn’t even remember his name, and his hair was already grey. Now look at us. The grey haired German has fan monikers like “Silver Fox”. People post face book meme’s about women swooning over him, and man-crush is used by the other gender.

We just never know. Time does some interesting things.

Did I want color? Yes. I still would, but maybe the body of the saints wouldn’t have accepted the changes that need to happen from a South African like they will if a white guy from Utah pushes the envelope. I guess we will see.
