GuestThe first is this week’s, pretty much AofF 11 without saying so. I don’t see any difference in sharpening knives and the lady who knits. I, of course, use my tablet or phone so it could appear I’m not actually listening tot he talks – and sometimes that’s right (if I am listening I’m probably not on my device).http://www.sltrib.com/news/3091213-155/kirby-keeping-the-gospel-sharp-and ” class=”bbcode_url”> http://www.sltrib.com/news/3091213-155/kirby-keeping-the-gospel-sharp-and Quote:Not everyone worships the same way, including people who worship the same thing. For me, there are only two appropriate forms of worship: my way and everybody else’s.
Quote:This isn’t how most people worship. Some will even insist that quietly sharpening knives during church isn’t what Heavenly Father would have me do. Maybe. But I suspect these people all have dull imaginations and even duller knives.
The second emphasizes our humanity and how we’re all in this together.

GuestThanks for the links. He’s being funny, but makes me think about how to draw the lines. And, how cool would it be to have someone in my house obsessed with knife-sharpening.

GuestGod bless Bro. Kirby. He ranks up there with Uchtdorf. Quote:But if enough of us left the one true church, maybe we could get around to solving some serious problems.

GuestQuote:Sharpening knives is a form of worship for me. The rhythmic movements calm my pathologically restless mind and allow me to connect better with my surroundings. It’s my preferred method of spiritual connection.
Funny how certain activities are approved and others are not.
DJ, thanks for sharing.

GuestI bet that if Bro. Kirby ever did anything illegal then more than a few would say, “I knew something was off with him and his knife sharpening, we should have kept him from poisoning the youth right from the start.” October 25, 2015 at 10:19 pm #305402Anonymous
GuestRoy: You nailed it. (Sigh.)
If I could change anything about LDS culture it would be that .. The judgement about anything or anyone who doesn’t fit the norm.
