My sweet husband and I were able to have dinner tonight with LookingHard. Such a pleasant way to spend an evening. Thought I would post and gloat.
How nice of you! The pleasure was mine. It was great to meet AP and the cherry on top was her great hubby! Oh – and some good food. Jealous! How great is that! I’d love to get together with all of you sometime. We should have a “ward” picnic! I’ll be doing some traveling this year — SLC, Boston, Stone Harbor NJ, Spokane, and San Francisco areas .. That’s what I know of so far. I would love to meet up with any StayLDS peeps along the way and take you out for dinner. I’m in SLC and would love to meet you and put a face to the name. I appreciate this site and all it’s done for me, but sometimes I feel adrift living in Mormon corridor with no one to talk to physically. I have said many times that this site is great and a blessing for me. AP is the first person I have talked with that knows just where I am at (I have had one good phone call with Bill Reel, so I don’t want to ignore that). For those that have not talked face to face with someone about your struggles, I can tell you it is very helpful. I am feeling much better today and the funny thing is that I didn’t feel like we even hashed over much “stuff”. It was more about meeting and getting to know someone that gets how I feel, isn’t judging me, can sympathize, and would be accepting of me no matter which path I choose. It just feels good. Very calming. I am pretty jealous! There’s the issue of inclination, means, time, or whatever, to meet up in person, but if anyone is getting together in the Seattle/Portlandia environs, please let me know. TatianaAvalon, I’ll let you know I’ll be in SLC. A few years ago, we had a BloggerSNACKacle at our house for the Mormon Feminist Housewives group. My DH was posting a lot with them and coordinated it. It was a blast. People really enjoyed meeting each other. I was surprised at the number of people who took the effort to arrange their lives and come. Most were local, but a few flew in or drove huge distances.
It reminded me that even in this era of the Internet, face to face social contact is still important
Whenever anyone just happens to be driving through ND, let me know. 
Getting to the point I too wouldn’t mind meeting someone in person. I would travel to meet you all. I’m in SLC. It would feel good if i were allowed to attend such a garhering. Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
