GuestI moved the following unapproved topic to the parking lot: In general I don’t have a problem with the topic itself, but I’m not sure it’s the kind of thing a new member might appropriately post for his or her first post as the topic can be provocative.http://forum.staylds.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7272 ” class=”bbcode_url”> http://forum.staylds.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7272 January 12, 2016 at 7:28 pm #308111Anonymous
GuestI think we should contact LIP and ask for an introductory post so we know them. I kinda wonder if they aren’t prompting for controversial stuff, even if the post says they are not.
It’s a puzzling topic, to be honest. What are they getting at with it? If I put “No, there shouldn’t be deceit” …will they come back with “Then why did they say X, Y, and Z, and why did they hide the truth, …” I’m just wondering where it will go.
But, I guess it is harmless to post it and then monitor it closely…and also ask them to post an intro.
I am in favor of approving it if we do that.

GuestI like the idea of contacting and asking them to post an intro first, but I’m not able to do that right now – I could do it later today. I think my reservation is similar to yours, Heber – I’m not sure of the motivation and I’m not sure we should saddle ourselves with closely monitoring a topic we’re not sure about. If someone like Rob posted this I’d probably answer it – but we know Rob and know his motivation. January 12, 2016 at 8:36 pm #308113Anonymous
GuestI sent a PM asking this person to post an intro before we will approve the topic to be posted to the open board. I will see if he/she responds to my PM or posts and intro.
Hopefully that helps.

GuestDoes the intro of his sway anyone’s opinion on allowing his parked post to go to the forum? Clearly he has an agenda. But…seems to be sincere about how he feels, not necessarily trolling. Would allowing the discussion help him calm down on the “fraud” accusations? I get the impression he thinks we’ve all learned to be closet disbelievers.

GuestI’m going to go ahead and approve his post/poll, and will help in monitoring the responses. -
