GuestI vote thumbs down for this one. As the boys’ soccer coach always says “right message, wrong tone” when they speak to each other inappropriately on the field, even though what they said was right. Additionally it does seem to only be in place to promote his book, however the book is apparently free. I did not download the book. I propose we PM or email the member and ask him to introduce himself and perhaps comment on other posts but refrain from promoting his book as his sole purpose – and then closely monitor his posts. The post was put up four times across the board in different sections, I disapproved all the others.
On edit: I did a search for the book and it shows up as a Kindle book on Amazon for 99 cents but also has a “look inside” feature. I see why the guy was ex’ed, and I think he could be ex’ed again – or perhaps he just has some mental health issues.

GuestI tried moving the topics earlier but they stayed put. Do you have to approve a post before it can be moved? Yes, there were 3 or 4 posts, all the same. If we approve the post it’s better suited for the introduction forum.
To be honest, enough red flags (plural) went up to where I’m not inclined to approve the post and it has nothing to do with promoting the book.

GuestNo, a topic doesn’t have to be approved to move. Tech can be glitchy, though. I agree with the thought about other red flags – that was my first reaction, too. Promoting another website, etc. comes up for a reason to disapprove, so it’s convenient and we’ve had the discussion here about similar things. February 8, 2016 at 2:10 am #308933Anonymous
GuestYes, multiple red flags. Don’t approve. Let’s see if it resolves itself.

GuestOh, and I am deleting the post, so it doesn’t get approved accidentally – which I have done in the past. February 9, 2016 at 5:47 pm #308935Anonymous

His post was definitely off. The LDS church does not generally ex people for being too “on fire” for missionary work. Must have been combined with other factors.

I think it has more to do with his claims of being commanded to write the stuff and that the stuff is worded like scripture. It appears to me he is claiming to receive revelations for people other than himself. Then again, I am not his judge in Israel.
