It has been a long time since I have posted on this forum, although I have read threads on here from time to time.

I have reached a point where I have found some peace with staying active yet have many changed beliefs. I still have ups and downs regarding church participation, but the amplitude of the valleys are significantly reduced and the peaks are somewhat greater and more prolonged.

I express my sincere thanks to this forum, to those who helped me through the most painful time of my transition. Thank you for giving me a soft place to land that helped lessen the pain. I believe your words have helped save me from greater pain by not being too reactionary during what seemed like the longest and most strenuous journey of my faith transition.

I know this is going out to nobody in particular, but I’m hoping all of you who remember me and have given me advice, encouragement, understanding, and validation in the past will accept this thanks.

To those of you just starting this journey, or those of you who are going through difficult parts of the journey, take it from someone who has been there: Know that you’re not alone and that it gets better.

Nice to see you again DT. I’m glad you have found some peace and thanks for the encouraging words. The following is especially helpful, I think.

This is really cool to have you come back and give an update.

I have heard many people say that it is a noble ideal to try to stay when beliefs change or a middle way is sought after, but it is unattainable and eventually you just can’t sustain it.

But I have never believed that, although I accept for many people leaving the church and not believing it is their best option for them.

But it is not the only option.

Perhaps it is hard to go back to how we saw things before the faith transition, but it can still be doable to StayLDS.

We just don’t always hear the rest of the story of people who find ways to make it work.

So it is really nice to hear your honest update.

Thanks for taking time to share it. I hope it gives others who are at the start or in the middle, some hope that there is a way forward.
