Second, I’d like to talk about testimony. This is a hard thing. Not too long ago, I would have answered the question “why do you stay” with a simple and pat response: “because I have a testimony”. Somehow the spiritual confirmation of Joseph Smith’s prophetic leadership and the divine nature of the Book of Mormon made everything else okay. That day is past, for me at least. My testimony—battered and bloody—beats within my chest … but it’s no longer enough. I’m on life support, and so are many many others.

My own testimony is not enough for me to stay either. I am one of those many many others that is also on life support right now. I couldn’t do it without examples like Christian and the good people at StayLDS. Thank you for helping to keep my testimony alive.
