This evolved as a result of another thread, but I thought I would make a new post to guarantee everyone sees it.

I suggest a new phrase to encapsulate so much of what is bothersome in our culture:

picayune penguin = a black-and-white view that has little or no value

I like it. I think there are also picayune parrots.

These penguins are often very busy, very productive and mean well, bit just don’t have a lot of time to sit and wonder about things. Keeping things black and white and simple to understand, they have their framing to go do many good things and enjoy the safety of being like the other penguins.

They are peculiar animals. And they know it. They like it that way, no individuality among the group, but the group has its own unique characteristics that differ from the rest of the animal kingdom.

Don’t try to convince them there are gray areas. Picayune penguins howl at that, it scares them, they retreat back to the safety and affirmation of the group in such cases.

They mainly eat green jello with sliced carrots in it, and a veggie tray with ranch dip at their gatherings.

I think they also can’t resist funeral potatoes.
