GuestFascinating. We really do know, without doubt, so little. August 12, 2016 at 4:11 am #313983Anonymous
GuestI do love how (most) professional scientists know that knowledge only comes by testing some of your assumptions. The only way to learn more is doubt that you know it all and keep questioning and testing. August 13, 2016 at 1:15 am #313984Anonymous
GuestOf course, most LDS won’t read the part that says the first people in Amenrica came here 6000 years before Adam and Eve. August 13, 2016 at 5:21 am #313985Anonymous
GuestSheldon, Sheldon, Sheldon – Minor detail. August 13, 2016 at 7:10 am #313986Anonymous
GuestIt actually is a minor detail, IF we ignore the timeline in the Bible that obviously is made-up. Well, at least, it is obvious to me.

GuestRay, is D&C 77:6 made up? August 15, 2016 at 1:26 am #313987Anonymous
GuestYes, I would say – if by “made up” you mean what Joseph beleived he was told but factually wrong. Maybe / maybe not – if you mean fabricated knowingly.
If you factor in that the chapter probably isn’t a dictation recorded by someone receiving a visitation (but the result of either a vision or an impression) and the possible insertion of the timetable part on his own as an explanation he assumed, it could be sincerely “received” and the result of accepting made-up crap.
Humans are complicated that way.
