GuestOne of my friedns who lives in Central Utah just posted on Facebook that his stake has instituted a new speaking assignment policy that pairs female stake auxiliary leaders with High Councilors on their monthly speaking assignments and divides the time evenly between them. He doesn’t know if this is just a local policy or part of a larger church policy. This is not a small thing, especially given where he lives. I applaud it.

GuestThat is an interesting change in policy. I wonder if the policy includes traveling together? There are instances in our Stake where FT Missionaries can’t meet with single Sisters alone.
They always have to have another adult male or female to accompany them. Appearances are important I guess.
It depends on the situation.

GuestI doubt they travel together. Utah County isn’t apostate . . . on the left said of the middle, anyway.
Three more of my friends have said it happens in their stakes, as well. It isn’t church-wide policy, but it apparently isn’t isolated to that stake. I think I will mention it to people here.

GuestIn my Stake (Camarillo Ca), the HC brings a member of the Stake Leadership. This could be male or female, and includes stake YM, YW, RS, Primary and Sunday School Presidency, and the odd Public Relations or Just Serve leader. August 27, 2016 at 2:02 pm #314273Anonymous
GuestTwo thoughts: Horray, I think this is a significant move and I’ll be hoping for it here. Horray, I don’t have a stake calling. August 27, 2016 at 11:00 pm #314274Anonymous
GuestThis was regular in my home stake almost 8 years ago. August 28, 2016 at 4:11 am #314275Anonymous
GuestIn our stake a member of an auxiliary presidency speaks at each ward conference along with the bishop and SP. We kicked around the idea of them also accompanying HCs in a couple stake councils an it was met very favorably by the HC – but two of the three female presidents where adamantly opposed. It hasn’t been mentioned in a couple months, but we have had some bigger fish to fry. August 29, 2016 at 6:15 pm #314276Anonymous
GuestThis is great. I hate the fact that the High Council week is pretty much guaranteed to be an all-male sacrament meeting. Of course, they still can’t travel together, but…

That comment sounds like something Sheldon on the Big Bang would say (with a bit of a grin) -
