I heard it with my own ears. Heartbreaking. I wanted to scream “Sacrilege” but didn’t. Clearly our teacher didn’t appreciate the Silver Fox.

    That’s all.

Sometimes people only hear what they want to hear, even when that means isolating phrases and taking them out of context. I have also experienced the butchering of Uchtdorf talks by others.

Unlike most Mormons, Uchtdorf actually understands the concept of grace. But that means anyone trying to teach one of his talks has to swim upstream to “get it.” I’m not surprised, honestly. Likewise, the teaching manual on Romans twisted the actual scriptures beyond recognition to claim that it was saying that works were necessary to salvation. Paul is literally saying the opposite. That lesson was appalling.

“As far as it is translated correctly” applies to teaching about GC talks, as well. :P

You can ruin anything if you put your mind to it.

For me it was cringe worthy. I wanted to run up, grab the notes, toss them aside, and start over.

Lamaze breathing was my only resource. Then a wander down the hall for a drink of water.
