There’s something weird about the Help me change my thinking thread.

It looks like there is a duplicate post, the last post on page 2 and the first post on page 3 are the same. Earlier today mom3 had a post that appeared to be a duplicate, straddling the two pages. I deleted the “second” one on page 3 but the post on page 2 disappeared along with it.

Fortunately I copied the post contents to a file before deleting. I do that when I delete anything just in case something goes wrong, as it did in this case.

Now Roy’s post straddles pages 2 and 3. There aren’t two duplicate posts, only the one as evidenced here (post only appears once in the list of Roy’s posts but appears twice in the thread).

Anyway, it’s odd. I inspected other threads and that one appears to be the only one that got off kilter, and only between pages 2 & 3.

I suppose if this is an anomaly there’s noting to worry about.

I actually noticed another anomaly a few days ago. I don’t positively recall which thread, but in the far right column on the index page where you can click on the most recent post it showed a post that wasn’t actually there. There was an error if you clicked on it. You could go into the thread by going into category and then clicking the thread, and indeed the post listed as the last post on the index page was not there.

I don’t know if it was the same one but I noticed one like that too DJ. It was in the Book & Media Reviews forum.

Edit: The recent post issue looks like a hit or miss bug in the phpbb software.

    https://tracker.phpbb.com/browse/PHPBB3-5642” class=”bbcode_url”>https://tracker.phpbb.com/browse/PHPBB3-5642

The other day I posted to the BoM geography thread, then deleted it but it still showed me as the last poster to that thread on the index page (until someone else posted). I also don’t see a log entry for the deletion in the user logs. Weird.

I have no clue. This stuff is nowhere close to my strength.

If Brian sees this, maybe he can answer it.

I’d just take scissors and cut them out. That’s all.
