Stake Women Leaders on Dry Council Sunday

In the past sometimes… returning Sister missionaries have accompanied said HC member.

This happened in my old stake. Whenever an Elder or Sister would return home, the SP would send them out with the HCs for a few talks. I think it would be AWESOME to hear from the women in Leadership! We need this! Though TBH, I had to look up what “Spanx” is… Lol.

We don’t have High Council Sunday monthly. It appears to be bi-monthly. I have no idea why. The past two sessions – we had one High Council Rep and one Woman from Stake Leadership. Each time they had a meaty topic. This one was the Atonement. The previous one was Covenants.

In the past sometimes wives have gone with HC husbands or returning Sister missionaries have accompanied said HC member. This new trend is super cool.

I am hoping it will catch on to other things.

The best part of this weeks meeting was the Stake Relief Society President extolling the success lesson’s from the creator of Spanx. Loved it.

I don’t know how I missed this one yesterday. Anyway, our stake has been doing this the last few years as well. In our stake, high council speakers aren’t every month in the wards. HC only comes 7 months (but every month to branches to give them a break in the same people speaking every 2 or 3 months). The sister leaders (RS presidency, Primary presidency, YW presidency) don’t speak every month either, and they don’t do it on HC Sunday, they have their own Sunday. Interestingly, when the SP first proposed the idea of the sister leaders going out and speaking the presidents were all opposed to it for various reasons (more work to do, pseudo-modesty/humility, etc.). It really boiled down to the SP just scheduling them (he schedules a presidency, not an individual and they get to decide who goes where and when). Anyway, it works now and I think everybody likes it and appreciates it.
