If the Salt Lake has a naughty or nice list, our area must of have hit naughty.

In the past 2 years we have been inundated with top brass GA’s for Stake and Area Conferences. Mostly Stake. We have hosted Anderson, Acosta, Bednar (not 3 months ago), and a passel of 70’s that would make your head swim.

Tonight I find out Uchtdorf is coming this Saturday. Only it’s not for everyone. Just missionaries, MP’s and SP’s.

I have no idea what we’ve failed at, but it’s big enough to draw a continuous stream of the softest chairs in the conference center.

I am bummed that Uchtdort isn’t make a more general visit. I might even attend if I could.

DFU is the head missionary so it’s not surprising he’s only meeting with a select group. If you’re lucky he’s implementing programs like in other areas (the opposite of mine) where missionaries focus more on service, aren’t permitted to tract, and aren’t saddled with ridiculous rules.

But it is interesting you’re getting so much attention. We get very little. We also have a much smaller church population which is shrinking, not growing.

Our area has had more than its fair share of dignitaries in the recent past too, but I think it’s because we’re on the nice list. Holland, Andersen, Cook. AAs and GAs, I don’t keep track of those. Some visits have been for youth only, some for YSA only, some for missionaries only.

On the missionary only front, I think every missionary experiences a visit from an apostle at some point during their mission.

Anyway… I think our visits are because we’re so nice. Our numbers must look good, what with all the assignments the SP is making. :P Also because our area is growing like crazy.

A new stake split off ours 3.5 years ago and our stake is already back up to 12 units and the stake that split off added a few more wards during that time too.

Like a snake? They keep cutting off the head and it grows back?

It’s because they don’t let people opt out of the programs, they’re all mandatory. :P

That would be a good name for a stake though, the Hydra South Stake.
